Job Description:
· Install, patch, maintain, monitor, and
upgrade Postgres using Postgres and operating system
utilities.
· Setup and monitor backups; implemented and
test recovery techniques
· Install, configure, tune, and maintain
production, development, staging and test environments.
· Experience
managing Postgres database configurations.
· Excellent understanding
of Postgres database concepts and structures especially as related to
9.x.
· Excellent knowledge of SQL
· Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
and distributions.
· Excellent knowledge
of Postgres architecture and configurations.
· Experience and understanding of patching
process and versions for Postgres,
· Excellent working knowledge of users and
security for Postgres
· Broad experience with many types of
replication.
· Postgres database performance tuning
skills including problem isolation and remediation.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability
to resolve issues quickly, effectively and provide root cause
analysis.
· Ability to communicate technical information
and ideas so others will understand.
· Bachelor’s degree required; at the manager’s
discretion equivalent experience in software development, database programming,
computer engineering or a related technological field may substitute for the
degree requirement.
· Proven experience implementing and
supporting enterprise database systems.
