SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for system
design/architecture and Oracle system administration , responsibility to
coordinate activates across various projects and Oracle instances, ensures that
the system is implemented, documented and maintained, ensures that business
continuity and continuity services are designed and in place for business
resumption including disaster recovery, ensures that SLA’s are designed and
implemented to support business continuity, has responsibility for production
problems and incident prevention controls and procedures, incident root cause
analysis/prevention controls & procedures and risk management. Ensures the
administration of Oracle eBusiness Suite database systems and related
environments are optimal. Ensures that application upgrades and patches are
installed and validated, ensures that the application is tuned and software and
customizations are installed. Responsible for system administration
strategic planning, infrastructure design and implementation, infrastructure
resource management, server resource management including monitoring and
maintenance, infrastructure hardware, system backup and recovery,
middleware, software and services.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advanced
level administration and support for all Windows and Linux servers in the
enterprise.
·
Create
and implement simple to complex scripted solutions for various operational
support (Powershell, VMScripting, etc.)
·
Participate
in disaster recovery tests and planning.
·
Partner
with peers and management to make informed strategic decisions.
·
Provide
architectural system design to meet strategic business needs.
·
Research,
recommend, and implement streamlined automation processes.
·
Provide
support operations of multi-site, multi-vendor environments.
·
Integrate
monitoring and configuration services as appropriate, (SCCM, SCOM, etc.)
·
As
needed, contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of
Virtualization solutions
·
(VMWARE)
Unix, Linux, and Wintel Servers, Enterprise active directory
(Windows), DHCP, DNS (external and internal), Certificate
Services, FTP Services, and various other solutions.
·
Participate
in the assessment and optimization of the server systems, through systems
monitoring, statistics, and daily health checks.
·
Serve
as primary point of contact for various server projects in accordance with and
support of business needs goals and objectives.
·
Work
with ticket queue to track support issues. Accountable for routine and
critical escalated problem solving.
·
Assist
team members in problem solving, make innovative improvements and decisions on
infrastructure.
·
Provide
after-hours support and be available for on-call support.
LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:
This position requires
little supervision and the expectation is that the incumbent can operate
independently and individually as well as a member of a team.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·
7+
years experience as a Server System Administrator in Windows, Unix, and/or
Linux
·
7+
years experience working in an enterprise infrastructure environment with
various infrastructure components and disciplines and mission critical
applications.
·
Deep
understanding of various server technologies (Linux, Windows, VMWARE)
·
Experience
with NetApp Storage preferred.
·
Experience
with CommVault Backup products.
·
Experience
with data replication tools and software.
·
Experience
with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory.
·
Experience
managing MS Internet Information Server (IIS)
·
Experience
with MS SQL, Oracle or MySQL is desired.
·
Strong
knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish
and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
·
Practical
experience and working understanding of project management methodologies, OSI
model, ITIL Service Operation concepts.
·
Excellent
analytical problem solving skills.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL
TRAINING:
·
High
School Diploma or GED required.
·
Industry
certifications a plus.
·
A
BA/BS degree in computer related field is desired.
