Qualifications/Requirements:
·
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science
or Electrical Engineering with strong emphasis in software architecture and
design, controls algorithms applied to the embedded and/or real-time systems
·
At
least 12 years of recent hands-on experience in embedded and real-time software
design, development, and testing
·
Embedded
experience in one of the following; avionics, automotive, commercial
transportation, medical, industrial controls and automation, machine control, robotics,
intelligent sensors, radar or air traffic systems – or other equivalent machine
platforms
·
At
least 2 years of experience working in an agile process and development
·
Strong
knowledge in embedded systems stacks and developing embedded middleware with a
preference for real-time experience in a network-connected device setting
·
Fluent
and recent hands-on experience in object oriented design, C++/C# and at least
some exposure to Java applied in industrial embedded or mobile platforms
·
Familiar
with working in cross-compiled environments and working with inline hardware
and software debuggers
·
Familiarity
with SOA, Cloud Computing and SW design principles related to SOAP/REST Web
Services
·
Deep
understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and the unique
aspects associated with implementing embedded systems
·
Proven
track record of delivering a software product or solution from its inception.
·
Strong
knowledge in data structures, Messaging (JMS, AMQP, DDS), CORBA, protocol
stack, Camel, Web Services
·
Must
have hands on experience in implementing messaging platforms using either JMS,
AMQP, CORBA, DDS, SEDA, Camel, web services, caching, data base applications
using Java, C++ and standard protocols
Desired Characteristics:
·
5+ Years of experience with real time operating
systems (RTOS), such as RT Linux, VxWorks, QNX, Integrity, ARINC 653 related,
RTSJ, etc. is a significant plus
·
2+
Years of experience in embedded RT Linux and developing in a RT Linux
environment a significant plus
·
5+
Years of experience in building messaging platforms using JMS, AMQP, CORBA,
SEDA, Camel
·
Familiarity
with hypervisors and issues related to software-to-hardware interfaces
·
7+
years leading complex development projects in a face paced incubation
environment
·
Familiarity
with M2M related industry standards and competing solutions
·
Experience
in developing software middleware frameworks to include communication or
network protocols
·
Experience
working with open source software and libraries
·
Experience
with Embedded hardware platforms and systems is preferred
·
Strong
understanding of data warehouse concepts including data integration, data
quality, and data modeling
·
Familiarity
implementing SOA/Cloud/web solutions and other related web development
technologies
·
Excellent
interpersonal skills working both technical and non-technical staff
·
Passion
for taking ownership and resolving the issues proactively
·
Strong
organizational and problem solving skills
·
Ability
to work under minimum supervision
·
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills
